Guidance note on youth groups

Membership of ART will give confidence to schools and youth groups that ringing teachers have been trained in their role and have been accredited to teach. Following the ART structured approach to teaching is important as is the presence of liability insurance. Nevertheless it will be crucial when working with schools or youth groups to ensure that a rigorous approach is taken to:

• Safeguarding
• Safety
• Risk assessment
• Equality
• Planning generally and lesson planning
• Reaching written agreement with the organisation concerning roles and responsibilities
• Parental consent
