Welcome to a new edition of Tower Talk bringing you news of ringing as the summer turns to autumn.
Many towers took time to explain the art of bellringing to the public during September with Heritage Open Days. At Saffron Walden and Hornchurch this was supported by mobile belfries in the churchyard. If you have never rung on a mini ring it is an opportunity to look out for as a surprisingly different experience.
Staying on the east side of the country the Learning the Ropes Festival went to Norwich where the Mancroft Ringing Discovery Centre hosted a celebration for ringers honing their skills using the LtR scheme.
It is fantastic to see bellringing being introduced to so many new people in just two weeks with the Heritage Open Days and wonderful to celebrate on going learning through the Festival in Norwich.
These kinds of activity will help us grow the ringing community, perhaps the Census in November will be the start of measuring just how far we can grow the ringing population in the next four years!
