Correcting an inconsistency in the ART Training Scheme Regulations, we propose to make a change to section 2 Definitions, requirements and limits. This change clarifies Time Limits and how out of time delegates can move forward to accreditation after completing a Module 1 or Module 2 course. This allows us to handle such requests in a consistent manner. We have also added a Right to Review as we appreciate that occasionally there are anomalies that may need different treatment.
Section 2. Definitions, requirements and limits
Revised Time Limit definition
Candidates have two years from the date of the day course to be submitted for accreditation.
If a candidate is out of time the following will apply:
- If their day course was completed less than three years ago:
- On application an extension of 6 months is allowed to complete accreditation
- No further training is mandatory but it is recommended that they complete the online refresher course
- They must take the theory test again if it was completed more than a year ago
- If their day course was completed more than three years but less than five years ago:
- They must complete online refresher training and a new theory test
- An extension of 12 months is then allowed to complete accreditation
- If their day course was completed more than 5 years ago:
- They must complete the face-to-face day course again (including completing the theory test)
-
Accreditation should be completed within 2 years of day course
New Right of Review
Following completion of the processes outlined in these Regulations, if any teacher/mentor is unhappy with the outcome, as they believe their circumstances (including those not previously disclosed) were not fully considered, they can make a final request to the Chair to review the decision. They must disclose all information they believe is relevant to their situation. The Chair will review all information provided and make a decision, which will be final.
