Having been travelling southwards from the Midlands for ART Course deliveries so far this year, it made a very pleasant change to be heading up north for one after some considerable time. Hoghton was an excellent venue and nine attendees from three branches of the Lancashire Association willingly joined in for the M1 activities. Lots of interaction, discussion and shared experiences right across all the sessions. On a glorious day of weather it was almost a shame to be either in the tower or the neighbouring church hall, but we enjoyed an outdoor lunch as a bit of a break.
Many thanks to Chris Barr for setting up the day, to Viv and Ray Clayton for the local arrangements and to everyone for coming and joining in so readily.
Course feedback comments were as follows:
“Really helpful, great to exchange ideas and pick up some tips from others. An enjoyable day too!”
“Great to share experiences and ideas and be encouraged in a safe and friendly environment”
“A good mixture of guidance and instruction plus friendly chat and exchange of ideas”
“Overall, an excellent day. Well worth the time spent. Friendly tutor”
“Very good course. Improves teaching confidence and a variety of ideas to meet the needs of the learners”
“Thank you! I really enjoyed the day. I feel more confident now in my ability to teach new learners. It was good to see other ways to teach, also requiring safety and how to secure a loose rope. Lots to take home and digest. Lots of new skills to learn”
“Overall the session has proved to me that I would be capable of teaching a new ringer – and feel more confident. Paul was really encouraging at all stages of the course. Thank you”
